Indiana Pacers (13-13) at Philadelphia 76ers (5-18), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Allen Iverson era in Philadelphia is officially over as
the new-look Sixers take the court this evening against the Indiana Pacers at
the Wachovia Center.
Iverson and forward Ivan McFarlin were dealt to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday
in exchange for guard Andre Miller, forward Joe Smith and a pair of 2007
first-round draft picks. The status for Miller and Smith on Wednesday night is
Miller is averaging 13 points per game and 9.1 assists in 23 games for Denver
this season and will take over as Philadelphia's point guard. In 594 career
games, Miller has scored 14.1 points per contest and 7.6 assists per game.
The Sixers have dropped 11 in a row and the most since a 13-game losing streak
from December 28, 1996 to January 20, 1997. Philadelphia's streak continued
with Saturday's 103-98 loss at San Antonio.
Andre Iguodala led Philadelphia with 27 points and seven rebounds. Kevin Ollie
scored 19 points for the Sixers, while Willie Green tallied 18 points. Kyle
Korver and Alan Henderson both scored 13 points, with Henderson pulling down
nine boards in the losing effort.
Meanwhile, Indiana, which was in the running for Iverson, had a two-game
winning streak stopped with Sunday's 104-94 loss to the Utah Jazz. Jermaine
O'Neal poured in 31 points and grabbed nine boards for the Pacers, who have
lost three of their last five games. Stephen Jackson scored 16 points and
Danny Granger and Sarunas Jasikevicius both had 12 points.
The Pacers defeated Philadelphia on November 7 this season by a 97-86 score at
Conseco Fieldhouse. Indiana has won three straight and seven of the last 12
