Milwaukee Bucks (16-19) at Philadelphia 76ers (9-26), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - Two teams riding four-game losing streaks square off
tonight, as the Philadelphia 76ers welcome the Milwaukee Bucks to the Wachovia
Philadelphia suffered its fourth straight loss on Wednesday night against the
New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Samuel Dalembert tallied 18 points
and eight boards and Joe Smith had a season-high 16 points in the 106-99
The Sixers, who are in last place in the Atlantic Division, are 4-8 at home
this season and bought out the contract of forward Chris Webber, who was
waived on Thursday. Philly has gone under some major reconstruction this
season with the trade of star guard Allen Iverson.
The Bucks completed a trade on Thursday, as they acquired guard Earl Boykins,
Julius Hodge and cash considerations from the Denver Nuggets for guard Steve
Blake. Boykins is averaging 15.2 points and 4.3 assists per game this season,
while Blake has posted 3.6 points per contest.
Milwaukee is without star guard Michael Redd because of a strained patellar
tendon in left knee. Redd is expected to miss the next 4-to-6 weeks. On
Wednesday the Bucks dropped a 90-77 decision to the Toronto Raptors at the
Andrew Bogut totaled 17 points and 18 rebounds for Milwaukee, which has
dropped five of six games. The Bucks own a 7-13 mark as the visitor this
season and are basement dwellers in the Central standings.
The Bucks defeated the Sixers, 98-94, on November 23 this season at the
Bradley Center. They have won four of the last five meetings.
Milwaukee has won two straight after losing its last three at Philly. Both
teams will meet for the third and final time this regular season on February
24 at the Bradley Center.
