Philadelphia 76ers (9-23) at Minnesota Timberwolves (15-15), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The new-look Philadelphia 76ers finish a season-long
seven-game road trip, as they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the
Philadelphia is 2-4 on the swing. On Wednesday, Carlos Boozer ended with 27
points and 14 rebounds to lead the Utah Jazz to a 98-87 victory over the
Sixers at EnergySolutions Arena.
Andre Miller posted a team-high 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists in
the loss to the Jazz for Philadelphia, which has dropped two of its last three
games. Andre Iguodala contributed 16 points, while Joe Smith netted 13 and
pulled down six boards in defeat.
On the injury front for Philadelphia, forward Chris Webber ( bruised right
foot) is questionable for tonight's contest. He has missed four straight
The Sixers are 4-7 on the road this season. They return home to host the
Detroit Pistons on Tuesday at the Wachovia Center.
Minnesota attempts to win its third game in a row, as it plays the second of a
four-game homestand. Mark Blount shot 12-of-14 from the field for 28 points as
the Timberwolves edged the San Antonio Spurs, 103-101, in overtime on
Wednesday at the Target Center.
All-Star Kevin Garnett collected 27 points and 17 rebounds in the win over San
Antonio for the Timberwolves, while rookie Randy Foye netted 19 and Trenton
Hassell scored 11 points and eight boards in the victory.
The Timberwolves, who have won three in a row at the Target Center, are a
solid 9-5 at home this season. They will host Houston on Sunday and the
Clippers on Wednesday.
This is the second and final time the Timberwolves and 76ers will meet this
season. On December 3rd, Ricky Davis poured in 22 points and Garnett had 15
points and 14 rebounds as Minnesota ended beat Philadelphia, 95-84, at the
