(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Timberwolves will try to shake a three-game
losing streak this evening when they visit the struggling Philadelphia 76ers
at the Wachovia Center.
Minnesota has dropped three in a row after winning three straight and suffered
a 106-92 loss against the Denver Nuggets on Friday at the Target Center. Kevin
Garnett had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the reeling Timberwolves. Ricky
Davis also had 21 points, while Mike James tallied 17 points in the loss.
The Timberwolves will hit the road where they have lost two straight and own a
2-6 record this season.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, has lost three in a row and seven of its last eight
games, including Saturday's 112-107 loss to the New Jersey Nets at Continental
Allen Iverson led the Sixers with 37 points on 11-of-25 shooting and was a
perfect 15-of-15 from the free throw line. Rookie Rodney Carney chipped in 20
points and Chris Webber, who returned from a six-game absence with a bad back,
finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds in defeat.
The Sixers lost all three games on their road trip and will return home where
they are 3-2 this season.
The 76ers went 2-0 in the 2005-06 series with Minnesota, which has won four of
the last seven meetings.
Minnesota has lost four of its last five at Philadelphia.
