Final Score: Memphis 113, Minnesota 101

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Mike Miller shot 8-of-12 from beyond the arc en route to a 34-point performance, as the Memphis Grizzlies pulled away late to down the Minnesota Timberwolves, 113-101, at the Target Center.

Rudy Gay finished with 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while Hakim Warrick tallied 20 for the Grizzlies, who have won two of their last three outings. Darko Milicic added 12 points and five boards for Memphis.

Ryan Gomes had 19 points and eight boards for the Timberwolves, who have dropped four straight. Al Jefferson scored 18 and ripped down eight boards for Minnesota, which also got 17 points from Randy Foye. Rashad McCants chipped in 16 points off the bench.

"We still had a chance towards the end of the game," Gomes said. "Rudy Gay made some big plays for them."

McCants drilled a three to give the Timberwolves a 93-88 lead with just under eight minutes left in regulation. Kyle Lowry completed a three-point play, tying the score at 95, and Gay's driving slam gave Memphis the lead for good.

"A lot of people were hitting shots," Gay said about the fourth. "It's fun to play that way, just to move the ball and get everybody involved."

The Timberwolves battled back from a 13-point first-quarter deficit to carry a 55-54 lead into halftime. Memphis was strong in the early going, racing out to a 21-8 lead after a Warrick layup with 4:20 remaining, but Minnesota began to climb out of the hole.

A Foye three-pointer narrowed the margin to 27-19 at the end of the first and Kirk Snyder's running layup brought the Timberwolves to within 31-29, but Miller knocked down a trey to restore a six-point lead, 37-31, with 7:34 to go.

Minnesota then engineered a 7-0 run, capped by McCants' pull up jumper, to grab its first lead of the game. The clubs traded baskets throughout the remainder of the stanza, with the Timberwolves in possession of a one-point lead at the break.

In the third quarter, Miller drained a three to give the Grizzlies a 72-64 lead. However, Minnesota rattled off 12 straight points to pull ahead 76-72 with 2:37 to play in the frame. The score was locked at 81 through three quarters.
