NBA Game Summary - LA Lakers at Sacramento

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant scored 34 points and hauled in 10 rebounds to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past the Sacramento Kings, 117-105, at ARCO Arena.
Pau Gasol poured in 31 points and grabbed 10 boards for the Lakers, who have won two in a row and 12 of 13 overall. Lamar Odom ended with 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Derek Fisher hit for 17 points and six helpers.
"We were not playing that great during the game," said Lakers coach Phil Jackson. "But we won this game because of effort. We did not have a feel for the game early. In the fourth, though, we got tough and more aggressive."
Kevin Martin and Ron Artest each chipped in 23 points for Sacramento, which has fallen in five of its last six contests overall. John Salmons dropped 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, and Beno Udrih gave 15 points. Brad Miller accounted for 14 points and 12 boards.
"It's a tough loss no matter how you look at it," said Kings coach Reggie Theus. "But they're a great basketball team and when it's all said and done they made the plays down the stretch to win the game."
Los Angeles still owns a 2 1/2-game lead over the second-place Phoenix Suns in the Pacific. The Suns defeated the Trail Blazers 97-92 on Tuesday.
With the Lakers down seven, Los Angeles quickly embarked on a 14-0 run, which essentially put the game away. Bryant scored 12 points on the spurt, while Gasol netted the other two. The scoring frenzy gave the Lakers their first lead of the game, 107-100, with 2:29 left in regulation.
The Kings came within four, 109-105, down the stretch, but never managed to make it a single-possession game, as the Lakers pulled away late.
The Kings were ahead 33-27 after the first stanza.
Sacramento held a 58-53 advantage at the break. Salmons had 15 of his 17 points in the first half for the Kings.
After an Odom layup pulled the Lakers within one, the Kings rattled off seven straight points to take a 65-57 lead with 9:42 remaining in the third.
Moments later, up by six, the Kings outscored the Lakers 10-3 to take a 77-64 lead with just over 5 1/2 minutes on the clock. Miller's tip-in sparked the run and his three-point play closed it out.
A 7-2 Los Angeles surge to end the third stanza pulled the Lakers within six, 87-81, heading into the final 12 minutes of play. A pair of Jordan Farmar foul shots put the exclamation on the run.
Two Gasol buckets brought LA within one possession, 87-85, not even 90 seconds into the fourth.
The Kings responded, though, with a 9-3 run which increased Sacramento's cushion to 96-88 with just under eight minutes to play. Two Artest free throws started the surge, and a Miller jumper closed it out. Sasha Vujacic's three- pointer accounted for the LA output.
