Okafor finally drew a foul on Iverson and made a pair from the line, but the Nuggets wouldn't be stopped. Kleiza continued to carry the load, as he scored 11 of his team's next 16 points, including a three-ball that made it 107-94 with 4:40 remaining.
Charlotte couldn't pull much closer, and with 3:04 left coach Sam Vincent was ejected after screaming at the officials and receiving a double technical. That almost sealed the Bobcats' fate, as Denver won its eighth straight at home.
The Bobcats held a 32-27 lead after the first quarter and gained some breathing room by intermission. A Jared Dudley free throw in the final seconds sent Charlotte to the break with a 67-57 cushion.
