NBA Game Summary - Utah at Memphis

(Saturday, February 2nd)

Final Score: Utah 110, Memphis 91

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Carlos Boozer scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Utah Jazz past the Memphis Grizzlies, 110-91, at FedExForum.

Deron Williams and Ronnie Brewer had 16 points each for the Jazz, who have won eight in a row and 12 of their last 13 contests. Williams also dished out 11 assists, while Mehmet Okur scored 15 and grabbed 13 boards. Matt Harpring tallied 12 points.

Kyle Korver had 14 points off the bench on 6-of-6 shooting from the floor in the win.

Rudy Gay totaled 15 points and had 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who have lost three in a row and five of their last six. Hakim Warrick and Mike Miller each netted 14 points, while Darko Milicic gave 12 points to match his 12 rebounds.

Warrick's trey in the waning seconds of the first quarter pulled the Grizzlies within 25-23 heading into the second frame.

However, Utah outscored Memphis 28-17 en route to opening a 53-40 lead after 24 minutes of play.

When Memphis pulled within seven points on a Warrick bucket, Williams connected on a layup that paved the way for a 12-0 Utah run. Williams scored five of the 12 points and Okur's trey capped the surge to give the Jazz their biggest lead to that point, 75-56, with just under four minutes on the clock.

The Jazz used an 8-0 run to close out the third stanza. Brewer scored the first six points and Harpring finished it off via a layup with 2.8 ticks left before the final 12 minutes. The surge saw Utah head into the fourth up, 83-59.

"They are a good team," Boozer said. "It was a close game early. We had a little cushion, but we came out of the second half with their offense getting some stops. We got a little bit of a lead and kept the lead in the fourth quarter."

Harpring's 1-of-2 performance from the foul line gave Utah a 92-66 lead with just under 9 1/2 minutes to play. Utah's lead never dropped below 19 points the rest of the game.

"We lost the last game," Milicic said. "We played well, but lost. It will be a tough game. We just need to play good defense and take care of the ball. Maybe we can get a win."
