Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Amare Stoudemire scored 22 of his 24 points in the first half as the Phoenix Suns routed the Atlanta Hawks 125-92 at US Airways Center.
Stoudemire shot 10-of-11 from the field and played just eight minutes in the second half for the Suns, who easily picked up their season-high sixth consecutive win at home.
Shawn Marion added 19 points, while Boris Diaw and Grant Hill had 16 apiece for Phoenix, which shot a season-high 64.2 percent. Leandro Barbosa donated 13 points and Steve Nash finished with 10 points and 10 assists in the win.
Marvin Williams scored 18 points and Josh Childress added 17 for the Hawks, who have lost six of seven. Former Sun Joe Johnson, who leads the Hawks in scoring (21.6), was held to nine points on 3-of-14 shooting.
The Suns set the tone early. Stoudemire hit back-to-back jumpers and Diaw hit a driving layup and hook shot as Phoenix opened the game with a 10-2 run. Phoenix led 28-17 after one quarter.
Stoudemire scored 13 points in the second quarter and the Suns continued to pull away, taking a 52-33 lead into the intermission.
Marion helped the Suns extend their lead even further in the third stanza, scoring 12 points, including two crowd-pleasing alley-oop dunks. Hill added 11 points in the quarter and Phoenix took a 90-66 lead into the final quarter.
