NBA Game Summary - Orlando at Seattle

(Wednesday, November 28th)

Final Score: Orlando 110, Seattle 94

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Dwight Howard poured in a career-high 39 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and had five blocked shots, as the Magic continued their early season success with a 110-94 win over Seattle.

Keith Bogans had 11 of his 14 points during a game-ending 17-2 run for Orlando, which moved to 14-3 on the season, including 9-1 on the road.

Rashard Lewis, playing his first game in Seattle since the sign-and-trade deal during the offseason, struggled against his former team, going 3-of-19 from the field for nine points and 10 rebounds. However, with Howard being dominant again and shooting 12-of-17, and with Carlos Arroyo dishing out 14 assists, Lewis' rough night was put on the back burner as the Magic won their fourth in a row.

"He was great tonight," Magic coach Stan Van Gundy. "He was fantastic tonight, that's for sure. If we had been making more shots and they had to play more honestly, who knows how many points he could have had, maybe 50."

Kevin Durant had 22 points on 6-of-21 shooting for the Sonics, who fell to 0-7 at KeyArena this season. Wally Szczerbiak had 20 points for Seattle, losers of six straight to fall to 2-14 for the season, matching the 1967-68 team for their worst start in franchise history.

"We weren't able to get the ball in the basket for the last 2 1/2 minutes," Sonics coach P.J. Carlesimo said. "I thought our guys did a good job with back-to-back games and we did a great job in the fourth quarter getting back in this game. They made plays, they made big plays when it mattered."

Szczerbiak's two free throws brought the Sonics within 93-92 with 4:35 left, but Lewis made a technical free throw and Bogans drained two more at the line before drilling a three-pointer for a 99-92 cushion with 3:48 left.

Jeff Green made two foul shots, but the Sonics went scoreless over the final 3:33. Hedo Turkoglu drilled a three-pointer, and Bogans followed by making consecutive shots from beyond the arc for a 108-94 margin with 1:14 remaining.

Turkoglu finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while J.J. Redick scored 11 for Orlando.

Damien Wilkins had 14 points and Kurt Thomas pulled down 14 rebounds for the Sonics, who struggled by shooting 35.4 percent.

The Magic used an 11-2 run to move ahead 17-12 and were in front 30-24 going into the second.

Orlando's lead expanded to 40-30 almost midway through the second and stood at 57-45 at the half. It was 83-68 going into the fourth.
