NBA Game Summary - Washington at San Antonio

(Wednesday, November 28th)

Final Score: San Antonio 109, Washington 94

San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Tony Parker fell just shy of a triple- double with 29 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds, leading San Antonio past Washington, 109-94, at the AT&T Center.

The assists and rebounds were season-highs for Parker, who went 12-of-18 from the floor.

"This game I just tried to be patient, I just tried to move the ball and wait for my chances to come," Parker said. "In the second half I was able to find some of those opportunities, I was able to penetrate and find shots."

Manu Ginobili had 19 points while Tim Duncan donated 16 points and seven boards, helping the Spurs win their 10th game in 12 tries.

Brendan Haywood paced his club with 19 points and Caron Butler netted 16 for Washington, which has dropped three of four.

"They did a good job executing, running their offense, everything that we threw at them, they would get through to our second line of defense every time," Butler said. "They always made the extra pass or did something to convert it to a great play."

The Spurs held a slim 24-23 lead after one quarter, and took a 49-46 edge into the locker room.

A 7-3 burst early in the third quarter, though, allowed San Antonio to gain some separation. Parker kickstarted the run with a layup, and Duncan's bank hook shot with about nine minutes left made it 58-51.

Parker added another lay-in moments later to push the lead to double digits.

San Antonio upped the lead to as high as 14 in the stanza, and held a 79-70 advantage after three quarters.

Washington moved within seven on a running banker from Antonio Daniels early in the fourth, but Ginobili cooly countered with a three-pointer to put the lead back at double digits.

The Wizards had one more mini-run before the Spurs pulled away for good, outscoring Washington 30-21 in the quarter.
