NBA Game Summary - San Antonio at Seattle

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Tim Duncan scored 26 points and the Spurs continued their best start in franchise history with a 116-101 win over the Seattle SuperSonics.
Tony Parker tallied 22 points and seven assists, and Manu Ginobili also had 22 points for San Antonio, which moved to 12-2 on the season. San Antonio shot 51.3 percent from the field, including an 11-for-19 clip from three-point range, the fifth straight win for the defending NBA champions.
"We improved our aggressiveness in the second half," Ginobili said. "We jumped the passing lanes and got some pick and rolls."
Wally Szczerbiak had 27 points and Kevin Durant 25 for Seattle, which lost its fourth straight and are completely opposite the Spurs with a 2-12 record. That includes an 0-6 mark at home.
"Our guys played very well, it's (the Spurs) the best team in the world," Sonics coach P.J. Carlesimo said. "To many mistakes, we took care of the ball all night, then we had turnovers late in the game. Too many blown plays."
The Spurs opened the third quarter with 12 straight points to grab a 76-64 lead. Consecutive baskets by Duncan capped the burst with 7:40 left in the period.
It was 91-84 going into the fourth, but the Sonics could only get within four after that. A reverse layup by Nick Collison brought Seattle within 101-97 with 5:12 left, but Parker countered with six consecutive points for a 107-97 cushion with 2:58 remaining.
The Sonics actually started with the first eight points of the game, capped by a jumper from Kurt Thomas. They led by as many as nine in the opening quarter before the Spurs rallied, eventually moving ahead 32-30 after the period following a jumper by Fabricio Oberto.
Despite San Antonio expanding its lead to eight early in the second, it was tight throughout most of that quarter with the game even at 64 at the half.
The Spurs have beaten the Sonics six straight times and in 16 of the last 19 meetings...The Spurs visit Sacramento Monday night, while the Sonics play on the road against the Lakers on Tuesday...The Sonics shot 52.6 percent from the field and were outrebounded, 39-29...There were 17 turnovers, nine to the Spurs...Szczerbiak was 10-of-13 from the field.
