Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Morris Peterson scored 25 points and Chris Paul had a big game with 21 points, 15 assists and four steals, as the Hornets ran past the Seattle SuperSonics, 107-93.

David West tallied 17 points, 11 boards, six assists and five blocked shots as the Hornets snapped a three-game road skid. Kevin Durant was limited to 18 points for the Sonics, losers of back-to-back games after winning two straight. Wally Szczerbiak, Nick Collison and Luke Ridnour each had 13 points in defeat.
The Hornets used a 12-2 run in the opening quarter to race to a 22-10 lead, with West's hook shot capping the flurry.
Already ahead by seven after the first quarter, the Hornets bolstered their cushion to 45-26 late in the second. Paul's three-pointer finished the 13-0 spurt, and the advantage was stretched to 52-33 at the half.
"We did a great job of executing," Paul said. "Defensively we didn't let Durant get going and we talked and rebounded extremely well."
Durant was particularly hampered in the second and fourth quarters, scoring just two points in each period. However, his big quarter came in the third with 10 points, but the Hornets held a commanding 81-63 lead going into the fourth.
Seattle never got its deficit under double digits in the final 12 minutes.
"They hit a lot of threes," Seattle's Earl Watson said. "They were kind of like daggers. That kind of extended the game or kept their lead intact. Then you add Tyson with some incredible tip-ins. They played extremely well."
The Hornets have won seven of the last 10 meetings..The Sonics fell to 0-5 against teams from the Southwest Division...Damien Wilkins had 11 points and Chris Wilcox 10 for Seattle.
