NBA Game Summary - Detroit at Sacramento

(Sunday, November 18th)

Final Score: Sacramento 105, Detroit 95

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Beno Udrih scored 23 points and dished out six assists, and Kevin Martin added 19 points and eight rebounds to lead the Sacramento Kings over the Detroit Pistons, 105-95, at ARCO Arena.

Ron Artest tallied 16 points and Brad Miller recorded 15 points and nine boards for the Kings, who have won the first two games of their current three- game homestand.

Tayshaun Prince had 19 points and Rasheed Wallace went for 17 points and 12 rebounds for Detroit, which has lost two straight to end its five-game road trip 2-3. Richard Hamilton ended with 16 points and Chauncey Billups had 14 points and nine assists for the Pistons, who lost the game when they lost their cool.

After Detroit's Jason Maxiell tied the game 89-89 with a dunk with 5:23 left, Martin gave Sacramento the lead for good with a three-pointer at the 4:42 mark.

Miller later extended the lead to 96-92 with a pair of free throws with 3:35 left.

Then, with 2:17 remaining, the Pistons lost their collective cool and as a result lost control of the game. Wallace was called for a foul on Miller. Wallace disagreed with the call and was hit with his first technical foul of the season. Detroit assistant coach Dave Cowens was also hit with a technical for arguing and after all the free throws, Sacramento found itself ahead 100-92.

"That was an absolute, total team victory," said Sacramento head coach Reggie Theus. "Everybody contributed at some points or another in the game that really made something happen for us in the end."

Detroit, which fell to 4-4 on the road this season, never threatened after that.

Detroit led 31-22 after one quarter and carried a 58-52 lead into halftime, but a 15-1 run by the Kings early in the third quarter gave the club the lead.

Trailing 63-54, Udrih spearheaded the run by scoring 10 points during the surge, which he also capped with a layup at the 5:01 mark for a 69-64 advantage.

The lead later hit seven points, 75-68, after a Miller jumper with 2:04 left and the Kings managed to carry a 75-72 lead into the fourth quarter.
