NBA Game Summary - Sacramento at Washington

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - DeShawn Stevenson led five Washington players in double figures with 19 points and the Wizards used a dominant third quarter to pull away from the Sacramento Kings, 92-79, at the Verizon Center.
Brendan Haywood scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and Antawn Jamison went for 16 and nine for the Wizards, now winners of four straight.
Washington overcame a pedestrian shooting night from the floor (34-for-81) by hitting 88 percent of its free throws and clamping down defensively - particularly in the fourth quarter - forcing 19 Kings turnovers.
Roger Mason had 13 points off the bench, and Caron Butler finished with 12 points to go with eight rebounds.
Brad Miller led Sacramento with 21 points and nine boards, but the Kings were unable to pull off a second straight road win one night after winning for the first time away from home in Philadelphia, thanks mainly to an extended dry spell during the early stages of the fourth.
Beno Udrih had 12 points and 10 assists, Francisco Garcia added 11, and Ron Artest and John Salmons went for 10 points apiece as the Kings dropped to 1-10 as visitors for the season.
Washington led 33-24 after one quarter and 46-39 with six minutes to go in the half, but the Kings ran off a 12-6 spurt to pull within one, at 52-51, at halftime.
The Wizards used a 15-5 run midway through the third capped by a Stevenson three to go up 70-60, and led 80-67 heading to the final stanza.
Washington then scored eight of the first nine points of the fourth to go up 20 and all but put the Kings away. Sacramento went more than nine minutes - spanning the third and fourth quarters - without a field goal before Miller finally converted down low with 4:47 to go in the game.
Washington has won each of its last five games with Sacramento, and is now 6-1 in the month of December...The Kings hit just 14-of-23 (61 percent) free-throw attempts...Mikki Moore had six points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots for Sacramento, losers of five of its last seven in D.C...The two teams combined for 24 total points in the fourth quarter.
