NBA Game Summary - Philadelphia at Houston

(Tuesday, January 15th)

Final Score: Philadelphia 111, Houston 107

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Andre Miller had 26 points and Samuel Dalembert added 19 and blocked a shot in the waning seconds as the Philadelphia 76ers rallied to beat the Houston Rockets 111-107 at the Toyota Center.

Louis Williams scored 18 and Andre Iguodala had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Sixers, who snapped a season-high seven-game losing streak.

"It was a good effort by everybody and the young guys came in and did a good job," said Miller. "We found a way to finish off the game. "We got some big steals in the fourth quarter, that was key to getting the win."

Yao Ming scored 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds for the Rockets, who have dropped two in a row since a five-game winning streak. Rafer Alston added 20 points but shot just 7-of-17 and committed six turnovers for Houston.

The Rockets led 83-67 with 2:20 left in the third quarter, but the Sixers stormed ahead with a 29-9 run.

Philadelphia pulled to within 85-74 heading into the final quarter and were able to go ahead in the fourth thanks in part to Houston's nine turnovers.

Alston's driving layup with 3:43 to go gave the Rockets a 101-98 edge. The Sixers were able to tie the game at 101 on two Miller free throws and one by Dalembert.

With 2:23 remaining, Dalembert's put-back dunk gave Philadelphia a 103-101 lead. After an Alston turnover, Miller drilled a jumper pushing the lead to 105-101 with 1:38 to go.

Alston's three-pointer with 50 seconds left cut Houston's deficit to 105-104. The Sixers, though, responded with a beautiful play. Igoudala dribbled into the lane before lofting an alley-oop in the direction of Dalembert who threw it down for a 107-104 lead with 35 seconds showing on the clock.

Yao then missed a hook but Luis Scola grabbed the offensive rebound. Scola went up strong but Dalembert came up with a huge block. Igoudala then connected on two free throws giving the Sixers a 109-104 lead with 16 seconds remaining to seal the win.

"We became very passive in the fourth," said Houston's Shane Battier. "What got us the lead was aggressive play. We were attacking the basket and swarming on the other end. They made their run because we were on our heels (in the fourth)."

Houston led 31-30 after the opening 12 minutes.

The Rockets pushed their lead to 52-43 with 4:30 left in the second quarter. An Igoudala triple with two seconds left brought the Sixers within 60-55 at the half.

Houston opened the third quarter with an 8-0 run, capped by Battier's reverse layup that gave the Rockets a 68-55 lead with 9:07 left in the frame.
