NBA Game Summary - Chicago at Phoenix

(Thursday, November 15th)

Final Score: Phoenix 112, Chicago 102

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Leandro Barbosa scored 25 points off the bench and Grant Hill added a season-high 24, as Phoenix blew the game open late for a 112-102 victory over slumping Chicago.

The Bulls started their "Circus Road Trip" with another loss, the sixth in seven games this season. Chicago, which also visits both Los Angeles clubs, Denver, New York and Toronto on the trip, hasn't fared well on the traditional road trip with the circus stationed in the Windy City.

Chicago came into Phoenix with a 5-47 record on the fabled trip since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen left the Bulls in 1998. This version continued the losing legacy with Ben Gordon scoring a team-high 24 points and Luol Deng adding 23.

Kirk Hinrich scored 17 with seven assists and Andres Nocioni, starting in place of Tyrus Thomas in an effort to shake things up, donated 18 points with seven rebounds.

Shawn Marion added 21 points with nine rebounds, Amare Stoudemire scored 14 points with six rebounds and six blocks and Steve Nash recorded a double- double with 10 points and 15 assists for the Suns, who reeled off their fourth straight victory in the young season.

Chicago held an 85-83 advantage after a pair of Chris Duhon free throws with eight minutes remaining, but the Bulls went the next five-plus minutes without a field goal.

Boris Diaw quickly scored five in a row, a jump shot and a three-point play, and after two Hinrich free throws, Marion converted a layup in transition and Barbosa buried a three for a 93-87 lead. The onslaught wasn't over as Marion made two buckets in close for a 97-87 edge.

The Bulls drew within 106-100 on Gordon's two free throws with 1:45 to play, and had an opportunity to cut the deficit even more but Hinrich took a wild shot while attempting to draw a foul and Hill converted a layup to sew up the win with 1:08 left.

Phoenix led 56-46 at the half, but the Bulls turned it up on both ends of the floor during the third stanza, outscoring the Suns 29-19 to square the contest at 75-75.
