NBA Game Summary - Detroit at Memphis

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Chauncey Billups scored 28 points and dished out 14 assists to lead the Detroit Pistons over the Memphis Grizzlies, 113-103, at FedExForum.
Richard Hamilton scored 27 points and Tayshaun Prince tallied 19 with seven rebounds for the Pistons, who have won two straight and seven of eight. Jason Maxiell added 15 points for Detroit, which has won nine of 11.
Rudy Gay scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Memphis, which has lost five in a row. Pau Gasol added 18 points and eight boards and Kyle Lowry also scored 18 for the Grizzlies, who have lost five in a row to Detroit. Memphis last beat the Pistons on January 6, 2005.
After the Pistons went ahead 100-82 following a Hamilton jumper with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Grizzlies came to life and made it interesting down the stretch.
Lowry and Hakim Warrick highlighted a 10-2 run with a combined eight points, as Gay ended the surge with a jumper to make it a 102-92 game with 3:49 left.
Later, a Gasol three-point play with 1:55 left drew the Grizzlies within seven points, 105-98, but that was as close as Memphis could get. Rasheed Wallace answered with a jumper 20 seconds later and the Pistons hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
Wallace had eight points and five boards off the bench for the Pistons.
Warrick tallied 17 points and six boards for the Grizzlies.
After Damon Stoudamire drained a three-pointer midway through the first quarter to draw the Grizzlies within 15-13, the Pistons took over. Detroit scored 22 of the final 31 points of the frame, with Billups' three-pointer with 23 seconds left in the stanza sending the Pistons into the second with a 37-22 cushion.
The lead ballooned to 24 points, 55-31, in the second following a Jarvis Hayes layup with 5:36 to play the Pistons cruised into the half with a 61-48 cushion.
Eight straight points in the third helped the Grizzlies cut the deficit to 77-65, but Detroit later answered by ending the quarter with an 8-3 surge to go into the fourth with a 90-74 lead.
Detroit hit 27-of-32 free throws for the game, while the Grizzlies hit 24- of-31...Memphis outboarded the Pistons 42-38...Detroit hit 50.6 percent of its shots from the floor compared to 46.8 percent for the Grizz...Darko Milicic ended with 12 points for Memphis.
