NBA Game Summary - Minnesota at Washington

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Antawn Jamison had 22 points and 13 rebounds and Caron Butler added 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Washington Wizards beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 102-88 at the Verizon Center.
Brendan Haywood donated 11 points and 14 rebounds, and Roger Mason Jr. scored 17 points off the bench for the Wizards, who have won four of five.
Craig Smith scored a career-high 36 points for the Timberwolves, who have dropped six of seven. Sebastian Telfair had 11 points and 10 assists and Al Jefferson added 14 points for Minnesota, which was outrebounded 57-35.
Head coach Randy Wittman returned to Minnesota's bench after a three-game absence. Wittman had missed the Timberwolves' last three games after undergoing back surgery.
Washington opened the second half with a 10-0 run, capped by an Antonio Daniels layup for a 66-46 lead with 8:35 left in the third period. The Wizards led 83-69 heading into the final quarter.
The Timberwolves were able to pull within 85-79 with 8:26 left in the fourth frame when Jefferson scored on consecutive trips down the court followed by two Corey Brewer free throws.
The Wizards, though, answered with a 7-0 spurt, culminated by Haywood's dunk for a comfortable 92-79 advantage with 5:51 left to play.
Minnesota never threatened thereafter.
After an evenly played opening quarter that ended 26-26, Washington started to pull away, outscoring Minnesota 30-20 in the second stanza for a 56-46 lead at the half.
The Wizards shot 42.4 percent, while the Timberwolves shot 40.7 percent...Washington is now 8-5 without all-star Gilbert Arenas...The Wizards concluded a five-game homestand with a 4-1 record..The Wizards have won four of the last five contests in the series.
