NBA Game Summary - Indiana at Utah

(Tuesday, January 8th)

Final Score: Utah 111, Indiana 89

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Carlos Boozer had 22 points, as the Utah Jazz crushed the struggling Indiana Pacers, 111-89.

Matt Harpring added 16 points for the Jazz, who have won three of their last four contests. Kyle Korver had 12 points for Utah

Danny Granger had a team-high 17 points for the Pacers, who have lost two in a row and eight of 10. Jamaal Tinsley, who missed the last five games with a sore left hamstring, chipped in with 13 points and five assists.

"It felt good (to be back in uniform)," Tinsley said. "We just struggled a lot and turned the ball over. We just came out and played bad tonight. They [Jazz] came out today, and wanted it more. They competed, and we turned the ball over a lot...we just didn't have a great defensive game tonight."

Mike Dunleavy scored 12 points and pulled down seven boards in defeat.

Boozer hit two free throws midway through the first quarter to cap a 13-3 run that left the Jazz up, 20-9.

Utah built on that lead and outscored Indiana 40-19 going into the second stanza. The margin extended to 50-22 early in the second.

"We got a lot of deflections, a lot of steals and we were very active in helping each other out and that set the tone for us throughout the course of the game," Boozer said. "We did a good job of maintaining that throughout the 48 minutes."

However, the Pacers kept fighting and eventually closed out the half on a 16-7 run, Granger scored nine of those points.

Utah went into the locker room up, 67-50, and the second half was all Jazz. Utah scored the final six points of the third quarter to take a 90-66 lead into the final frame.

The Jazz opened up their biggest lead of the game, 102-71, on a Korver three- ball with just over eight minutes left in play.

Marquis Daniels drained a three-pointer late in the fourth quarter to cap a Pacers 11-0 run, which cut their deficit to 20 points.
