NBA Game Summary - Phoenix at New York

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Amare Stoudemire scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns over the New York Knicks, 115-104, at Madison Square Garden.
Grant Hill also had 28 points, scoring the first nine of the fourth quarter, and dished out seven assists with eight rebounds for the Suns, who have won two straight. Shawn Marion had 15 points and seven boards and Steve Nash tallied nine points and 15 assists for Phoenix, which has won four straight against the Knicks.
Stephon Marbury and Eddy Curry led the Knicks with 21 points each, as New York has dropped two of three. Zach Randolph added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks, who were in the game until falling behind at the beginning of the fourth.
Marbury learned after the game that his father had died and left the arena before the post game interviews.
Trailing 76-75 after Quentin Richardson hit a jumper for the Knicks with 4:06 left in the third quarter, Phoenix scored the next four points to take the lead for good. Leandro Barbosa's jumper at the 3:50 mark put the Suns on top. Then, after a missed Richardson three-pointer, Brian Skinner connected on a jumper for a 79-76 Suns lead.
Marbury eventually hit a driving layup with 32 seconds left in the quarter, sending New York into the fourth down 85-84.
However, Hill took over at the start of the fourth to put the Suns in the driver's seat. Hill scored the first nine points of an 11-0 run that gave Phoenix a 96-84 cushion following a Barbosa's jumper with just over 2 1/2 minutes gone in the stanza.
"We got a lot of separation in a short period of time," said Nash. "It was nice."
The cushion later reached 16 points, 105-89, after Skinner converted a layup with 4:56 left and the Suns cruised to the finish.
Barbosa ended with 15 points and Raja Bell tallied 13 for the Suns, who dished out an NBA season-high 37 assists in the game.
Richardson, a former Sun, ended with 15 points and six assists for New York, which dished out a season-high 23 assists as a team.
"There was a two, three minute stretch when we took some bad shots and they got something going," said Richardson of the fourth quarter. "We got away from what we were doing a little bit."
Phoenix led 37-29 after one quarter and carried a slim 61-57 lead into halftime.
New York tied the game at 67 on a Richardson three-pointer with 9:27 left in the third quarter. Then, Marbury drained a three at the 6:50 mark to give the Knicks a 71-70 edge.
David Lee had 12 points and five rebounds for the Knicks...Jamal Crawford had 10 points for New York...Phoenix hit 10-of-14 free throws while the Knicks hit only 18-of-29 from the line...The Knicks haven't beaten the Suns since January 2, 2006, a 3-OT, 140-133 decision...Phoenix has won eight of nine against the Knicks.
