NBA Game Summary - Houston at Sacramento

(Saturday, December 1st)

Final Score: Sacramento 107, Houston 99

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Ron Artest and Kevin Martin each scored 26 points to lead Sacramento over Houston, 107-99, at Arco Arena.

Beno Udrih recorded 15 points, five rebounds and five assists for Sacramento, which beat former head coach Rick Adelman in his first trip to Arco Arena since his contract was not renewed by the club at the end of the 2005-06 season.

John Salmons had 13 points and Brad Miller tallied 12 points and seven boards for the Kings, who have won two of three overall.

Tracy McGrady had 40 points to lead the Rockets, who have dropped two straight. Yao Ming tallied 29 points and 11 boards before he was ejected in the fourth quarter for Houston, which ended a four-game road trip 2-2.

Adelman, in his first-year with the Rockets, was the Kings all-time winningest coach and led the team to eight straight postseason berths, which ended the year after he left.

It's a quality win for us," said first-year Kings head coach Reggie Theus. "I thought everybody did their jobs."

Ahead by just three points in the fourth quarter, 97-94, with 3:57 left, the Kings went on a 9-2 run to take control. A pair of Udrih free throws capped the surge, which saw Yao ejected for arguing with the officials after a foul call.

The Kings coasted to the final buzzer from there.

Houston led 29-26 after one quarter and carried a slim 50-49 lead into halftime.

Down 57-55 in the third quarter, the Kings took the lead for good courtesy of a 15-4 run that was capped by a Martin layup with 4:57 left for a 70-63 advantage.

Sacramento, which ended a three-game slide to the Rockets, beat the team for the first time since April 9, 2006. The Kings held a 79-74 lead going into the fourth quarter.
