"Right now we are operating on all cylinders and playing pretty efficiently on offense," said Detroit head coach Flip Saunders. "To score as many points as we did and to play as effectively as we did considering we started out kind of like the weather in the first six minutes says a lot about our team."

"We're kind of in a the middle of a downturn, no doubt," said Milwaukee head coach Larry Krystkowiak. "We've gotten away from a lot of the things we've been preaching and believing in as a staff and as a group of guys in that locker room. When you've got four (games) in five nights and the last one is against a team like Detroit, you know you're going to be challenged."
The Pistons held a 28-22 lead after one quarter and used a pair of threes, one by Wallace and other by Prince, to end the second quarter to carry a 56-42 lead into halftime.
Then in the third, six straight points gave the Pistons a 17-point lead. Richard Hamilton's layup with 4:28 left gave Detroit a 69-52 cushion and the Pistons cruised into the fourth with an 84-65 advantage courtesy of another Prince trey at the buzzer.
Detroit ran away in the fourth quarter, extending to a 29-point lead, 117-88, on a Nazr Mohammed layup with 57 seconds left.
