Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Rudy Gay scored a game-high 21 points and Mike Miller added 18 points and 14 rebounds, as the Memphis Grizzlies hammered the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-80.

Damon Stoudamire chipped in with 14 points and seven assists, while Pau Gasol added 13 points for Memphis, which has won three of its last four games. Stromile Swift had 16 points and 10 boards off the bench.

Rashad McCants finished with a team-high 18 points in a reserve role for the Timberwolves, who have dropped three straight and eight of their last nine. Sebastian Telfair had 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Antoine Walker had 13 points and nine boards in defeat.

After a closely played first quarter, Miller's layup with 26 seconds left gave the Grizzlies a 26-21 lead after one period of play.

Swift's dunk midway through the second gave Memphis a 40-27 advantage, but Minnesota hung around and got a jumper from Corey Brewer with 37 seconds remaining in the half, to cut its deficit to 49-40 heading into the intermission.

Memphis went on a 19-9 run to open the third and, following a three by Stoudamire, had a 68-49 lead with four and a half minutes left in the period and a 79-55 advantage after three quarters.

It got worse for the Timberwolves in the fourth, as Minnesota extended its lead to 87-57 following a free throw by Swift with 9:29 left in the contest and coasted the rest of the way.

Game Notes

Attendance was 12,896...Minnesota will host the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, while Memphis will host Portland on Monday...The Grizzlies shot 49.4 percent from the field, while Minnesota struggled, making only 38.4 percent of its shots.
