NBA Game Summary - New Jersey at Philadelphia

(Sunday, March 4th)

Final Score: Philadelphia 99, New Jersey 86

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Andre Iguodala had 21 points, five rebounds and six assists as the Philadelphia 76ers downed the New Jersey Nets 99-86 at the Wachovia Center.

Willie Green and Kyle Korver netted 20 points apiece for Philadelphia, which won a season-high fourth straight game. Joe Smith added 11 points and 10 boards for the 76ers, who won their fifth straight game at the Wachovia Center.

"We had a really poor start tonight," said Korver. "Our defense wasn't terrible, we just couldn't seem to score any baskets; I don't think we got the greatest shots. Obviously you can't start off 17 in-the-hole and come back and win every night, but tonight we fought hard and ended up winning big."

Bostjan Nachbar registered 21 points for New Jersey, which has lost its last two games. Jason Kidd recorded his 10th triple-double of the year with 11 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists for the Nets, who led by as many as 17 in the first half.

New Jersey took a 12-4 lead early thanks to an 8-0 run. The Nets continued to extend its lead as Nachbar's driving layup put the margin at 24-7 with 3:09 remaining in the first stanza and New Jersey led 30-18 after one quarter.

Philadelphia fought back with a 22-3 run, which put the 76ers ahead 38-33 with 6:52 left in the first half. Korver scored 11 points during the stretch.

The 76ers led 49-43 at the intermission.

Andre Miller's jumper sparked a 10-0 76ers run to open the second half extending the lead to 59-43 early in the third period.

Philadelphia led 78-65 heading into the final quarter.

New Jersey got as close as 80-70 with a Eddie House triple but Korver responded with a trey and the Nets never threatened after that.

Vince Carter missed his last 14 shots and finished with just nine points on 4- of-20 shooting for the Nets.

"Missed shots, defensive and offensive mistakes...everything," said Carter when asked why they lost." Once they (76ers) got in a groove they just took off and kept running. Our inability to get stops and to rebound really hurt us."
