NBA Game Summary - Memphis at Seattle

Final Score: Seattle 121, Memphis 105

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Rashard Lewis scored 34 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and the Seattle SuperSonics routed the Memphis Grizzlies, 121-105.

Ray Allen scored 27 points for the Sonics, who won their third straight, and their fourth in five games. Luke Ridnour scored 15 points and tallied 12 assists, and Chris Wilcox scored 13 points and pulled down 15 boards for the Sonics. Nick Collison also notched a double-double, with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Pau Gasol scored 17 points and grabbed 12 boards for the Grizzlies, who lost their fifth straight on the road. Mike Miller scored 20 points, and Rudy Gay finished with 19 points for Memphis.

Seattle put the Grizzlies away in the third quarter, outscoring them 32-22 and opening up a 16-point lead that Memphis never threatened. The Sonics outscored the Grizzlies 23-11 to open the quarter, taking an 87-69 lead after a Wilcox layup at the 4:33 mark of the third quarter. A Wilcox free throw pushed the Seattle advantage to 20 points, 96-76, with just over a minute left in the stanza.

The Seattle onslaught continued in the fourth quarter, with the Grizzlies never cracking the double-digit Seattle lead as they fell to 3-24 on the road this season.

The free-wheeling Grizzlies hit the ground running, and led 15-8 after a Damon Stoudamire three at the 7:20 mark. Seattle answered, though, ripping the porous Grizzlies defense for a 16-4 run, and led 26-19 after a Collison tip-in with 3:31 left.

Seattle took a 32-24 lead into the second quarter.

Memphis outscored the Sonics 11-2 to open the second quarter, taking a 35-34 lead on two Dahntay Jones free throws at the 8:40 mark. Allen and Lewis heated up from beyond the arc, though, and the Sonics took a 64-58 lead into the break, with Lewis and Allen scoring 21 and 17 points in the first half, respectively.

Game Notes

The Sonics entered the game shooting 34 percent from behind the arc, but lit up the league's worst three-point defending team for 8-of-14 (57 percent) from three-point land...Seattle attempted 14 more shots than Memphis, 103-89...The Sonics outrebounded the Grizzlies, 56-43.
