NBA Game Summary - New York at LA Lakers

(Tuesday, February 13th)

Final Score: New York 107, LA Lakers 106

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Jamal Crawford fed Eddy Curry with the go- ahead alley-oop jam with 7.1 seconds left, as the New York Knicks completed a season sweep of the Lakers with a 107-106 victory at the Staples Center.

Crawford ended with 24 points and Quentin Richardson tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks, who also beat Los Angeles, 99-94, at Madison Square Garden, exactly two weeks ago.

"Our energy was good, our tempo was good, and a lot of guys touched the ball," Knicks coach Isiah Thomas said. "We played our tempo and pace."

Curry also had 19 points and Channing Frye contributed 14 for New York, which has won three of its last four overall.

"We love playing together," Crawford said of Curry. "We're playing good basketball right now. We're a good team. Isiah is doing a good job leading us."

Kobe Bryant had a game-high 31 points, but never touched the ball in the final 7.1 seconds for the Lakers, who have lost four in a row and eight of 11. Maurice Evans had 16 points and Lamar Odom ended with 12 points and 10 boards, but missed the potential winning jumper at the buzzer.

Bryant's two free throws had the Lakers ahead 104-103 with just under a minute left, but Curry crashed into Smush Parker and banked in a shot to give the Knicks the lead with 46.8 seconds remaining.

Bryant then nailed a jumper with 29.9 seconds left to set up the go-ahead tally. Richardson missed a three-pointer, but David Lee got the offensive board in the left corner before passing to Crawford, who in turn flipped the ball to Curry for the emphatic slam, sending Spike Lee celebrating court-side.

After a timeout, Odom got the inbounds pass, but his fadeaway shot from beyond the lane was short.

Lee ended with 12 points for the Knicks, who shot 50 percent from the field.

Ronny Turiaf scored 11 for the Lakers, who went 11-of-27 from three-point range.

The Lakers led 19-17 after one quarter and 54-49 at the half. The Knicks kept it tight in the third with the lead see-sawing for a time, before New York claimed an 81-80 edge going into the fourth.
