NBA Game Summary - Memphis at New Orleans/Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) - David West scored 22 points and Chris Paul had 23 points and 11 assists to lead the Hornets over the Grizzlies, 114-99, at the Ford Center.

Desmond Mason added 16 points and Tyson Chandler had 15 points and 16 rebounds for the Hornets, who used a 13-0 third-quarter run to win for the third straight time and eighth time in 10 outings.

"The key is to play hard and be playing your best basketball before the All- Star Break," said Paul. "Right now, we have goof momentum going into the break. We need to keep it up."

Pau Gasol had 21 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis, which lost for the fifth time in six games. Hakim Warrick and Rudy Gay each had 14 points for the Grizzlies, who are yet to win consecutive games this season. Memphis beat Minnesota 105-97 in overtime on Friday night.

"We have to do a better job and be more physical," said Gasol. "It was just a lay-up drill for them. We just have to be tougher."

With the game tied at 40-40 late in the second quarter, the Hornets went on an 11-5 run to take the lead for good. West had six points and Paul five during the run, which was capped by a Chandler bucket with under 30 seconds to play and the Hornets cruised to the locker room with a 56-47 edge.

In the third, ahead 62-54, the Hornets ripped off 13 straight points to take control. West scored four points during the surge, which was ended by a Devin Brown basket for a 75-54 lead with 6 1/2 minutes to play until the fourth.

The Hornets cruised into the final quarter with a 91-71 lead and were never really threatened in the fourth.

Brown ended with 11 points for the Hornets.

The Hornets improved to 16-11 at home...Memphis fell to 3-22 on the road...The Hornets outboarded the Grizzlies, 47-33...The Hornets have won the two meetings against Memphis so far this season and five straight dating back to last year.
