NBA Game Summary - Orlando at Milwaukee

(Tuesday, February 6th)

Final Score: Milwaukee 116, Orlando 111

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Ruben Patterson scored eight of 10 points during a crucial fourth-quarter stretch, highlighted by a 30-foot heave to beat the shot clock and a follow-up, one-handed slam, as Milwaukee downed Orlando, 116-111, at the Bradley Center.

Patterson scored a game-high 27 points with seven rebounds and six assists, Earl Boykins contributed 24 points and six assists, Charlie Villanueva added 22 points and nine rebounds and Charlie Bell chipped in 20 points for Milwaukee, which snapped a four-game skid that included a 98-73 loss in Orlando.

Tuesday's victory marked the first time four Bucks reached 20 points since March 2004. Milwaukee improved to 11-9 at home this season.

Dwight Howard notched a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, Keith Bogans tallied 19 points and Hedo Turkoglu donated 18 points for Orlando, which has dropped six of seven.

"Well, it's just disappointing because it was one of our poorest defensive efforts of the year, especially since we didn't play last night," Orlando head coach Brian Hill stated.

The defining sequence came with under five minutes remaining in regulation and Milwaukee holding a 98-94 lead. Patterson made the second of two free throws, then heaved a 30-footer that found the bottom of the net as the shot clock expired.

After Howard converted off an alley-oop, Patterson drained a pair of free throws and sliced down the lane and slammed home a miss by Maurice Williams for a 106-96 lead with 3:23 left.

"The thing I like about Ruben is, he's been playing a lot of minutes -- he played 37 minutes -- and he played at both ends of the court pretty hard," Milwaukee head coach Terry Stotts said.

The Bucks cruised to victory from there.

Milwaukee led 28-26 after one stanza then built the lead to 63-59 at the half.

The Magic scored five straight points to square the contest at 76-76 on a pair of Bo Outlaw free throws with 4:34 on the clock in the third quarter. Milwaukee scored nine of the next 11 points and led 88-82 after three periods.
