NBA Game Summary - Orlando at Seattle

(Wednesday, November 29th)

Final Score: Orlando 94, Seattle 84

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Dwight Howard poured in a game-high 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Orlando, which got 48 points from its bench en route to a 94-84 victory over Seattle at KeyArena.

Howard went a perfect 8-of-8 from the floor and converted on 8-of-12 from the charity strip. Carlos Arroyo scored 16 points with four assists and Darko Milicic added 14 points for the Magic, who have won five straight.

Jameer Nelson netted nine points and dished out six helpers in the win.

Ray Allen led the SuperSonics with 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting and Rashard Lewis finished with 18 points. Johan Petro had 13 points and seven boards in defeat.

Seattle, which shot a dismal 39 percent from the field, has dropped three in a row.

The game remained tight through two quarters of play, but the Magic took control of the second half and showed why they are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference with their 12th win of the campaign.

With the game tied, 59-59 halfway through the third, Chris Wilcox's layup put the SuperSonics up by two, but Orlando netted seven straight points for a five-point lead with 2 1/2 minutes left and finished the period up 68-65.

An early 14-4 burst by the Magic highlighted the fourth quarter and put the brakes any threat by Seattle, which committed three turnovers during a run that was capped with five points from Arroyo.

Orlando outscored the SuperSonics, 26-19 during the final frame.

Wilcox's hook shot broke a 15-15 tie with 3:49 left in the first and an Earl Watson three put Seattle up by five moments later. Milicic then cut it to one for Orlando with a hit from the charity strip, but Lewis' layup and Luke Ridnour's running jumper gave the SuperSonics a 26-21 lead after one.

Seattle opened the second quarter by scoring eight of the first 10 points, capped by Allen's jump shot for an 11-point edge at the 9:13 mark. The Magic, though, responded late in the frame and knotted the contest at 41 on seven unanswered points.

Milicic then drilled a jumper with one second to play to make it a 45-45 game at halftime.
