NBA Game Summary - New York at Chicago

(Tuesday, November 28th)

Final Score: Chicago 101, New York 85

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Ben Gordon poured in 23 points as the Chicago Bulls pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the New York Knicks, 101-85.

Chris Duhon scored 17 points while P.J. Brown had 14 for the Bulls, who swept a home-and-home set with New York.

Ben Wallace, who was benched and fined for wearing a headband against New York on Saturday, finished with eight points and 12 rebounds.

"I figured he would have a lot of energy," said Chicago head coach Scott Skiles. "I think he was just active in general."

Eddie Curry scored 24 points and grabbed eight boards for the Knicks, who have dropped five of their last six.

Steve Francis and David Lee each had 14 points for New York, which turned the ball over 22 times and missed 13 free throws (17-of-30).

"You're not going to beat this team throwing away the ball like that," said New York head coach Isiah Thomas. "For us tonight it was just a matter of poor execution. We didn't get the things done the way we usually do."

Curry's layup brought the Knicks within four, 82-78, with less than seven minutes remaining, but the Bulls responded with a 10-2 spurt to put the game away.

Duhon ignited the run with a running jumper, Brown followed with two free throws and Hinrich dropped in a layup to make it 88-78 with 4:50 left to play.

After a Lee basket, Brown put back a Gordon miss and Hinrich converted two from the charity stripe to make it 92-80 with 3:19 remaining as Chicago went into cruise control the rest of the way.

"We feel as a staff that P.J. has quietly played well," said Skiles. "Tonight it was more outward. He got offensive opportunities."

New York held a 23-21 lead after the opening 12 minutes but Chicago outscored the Knicks by three in the second quarter and took a slim 47-46 lead into the break.

The game remained tight in the third quarter as the Bulls held a 71-68 lead heading into the final period.
