NBA Game Summary - New Orleans/Oklahoma City at Seattle

(Tuesday, December 26th)

Final Score: Seattle 102, New Orleans/Oklahoma City 94

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - New Orleans/Oklahoma City may have suffered a bigger loss during the game than at its conclusion, as Chris Paul's ankle injury overshadowed Luke Ridnour's 27-point, nine-assist performance in Seattle's 102-94 victory over the Hornets.

Paul collapsed to the floor in agony about midway through the second period and could not put any weight on the ankle. He was carried off the floor and did not return after scoring six points with seven assists in just under 11 minutes.

X-rays came back negative, but the star point guard's status is uncertain for Wednesday's game at Portland.

Chris Wilcox notched a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Ray Allen connected for 21 points and dished out eight assists for the SuperSonics, who won their second straight contest.

Jannero Pargo picked up the slack in Paul's absence with 23 points on 10-of-21 shooting. Desmond Mason donated 21 points with seven boards for the Hornets, who have lost two straight.

Two Mason free throws brought the Hornets within 96-91 with 1:33 on the clock, but Ridnour buried a three on the next possession to seal the victory.

Seattle ended the first quarter on a 13-4 spurt to draw within 27-26. The SuperSonics seized the edge at 35-33 on Ridnour's layup with under nine minutes remaining before the break.

The SuperSonics led 49-47 at the half.

Game Notes

Tyson Chandler had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Hornets...The SuperSonics made 7-of-13 from three-point range...The Hornets made just 15-of-28 from the charity stripe...Seattle has won three of the last four meetings.
