NBA Game Summary - Orlando at Memphis

(Monday, November 20th)

Final Score: Memphis 95, Orlando 86

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Hakim Warrick scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 95-86 win over the Orlando Magic.

The Grizzlies won the game going away, outscoring Orlando 22-6 to close out the fourth quarter.

Rookie Kyle Lowry provided a major spark off of the bench for Memphis, scoring 16 points while also registering five steals, six assists, and five rebounds on the night. Jake Tsakalidis and Mike Miller both scored 11 points for the Grizzlies, who broke a seven-game losing streak with the win.

Dwight Howard had a monster game for Orlando, scoring 24 and grabbing 23 rebounds in the losing effort.

All five starters registered double-figures for the Magic, who had a four-game winning streak snapped with the loss. Grant Hill scored 16, and Hedo Turkoglu and Jameer Nelson both tallied 12 points on the night. Tony Battie added 10 points for the Magic.

A Battie jump-shot gave the Magic an 80-73 lead with 5:32 remaining in the fourth quarter. Orlando couldn't manage much offensively after that, though, only netting six more the rest of the way as Memphis ran away with the win.

The Memphis run stretched open a game that had been neck-and-neck throughout, an unexpectedly close contest considering that Orlando came in as one of the hottest teams in the NBA while the Grizzlies have struggled mightily in the young season.

Memphis battled back into a game that it trailed throughout the first half, and a Lowry dunk with 39 seconds left in the third quarter brought Memphis to within two, at 65-63.

Orlando hit the ground running in the first quarter, scoring the game's first seven points. Howard scored nine to push the Magic to a 23-14 lead going into the second quarter.

The Grizzlies fought back in the second quarter, however, and only trailed 45-40 at halftime.
