NBA Game Summary - Houston at Golden State

(Thursday, December 14th)

Final Score: Golden State 109, Houston 107

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Baron Davis hit the winning three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining, as Golden State rallied from a four-point deficit in the final minute for a 109-107 victory over the Houston Rockets.

Davis ended with 34 points and eight assists, as the Warriors won back-to-back contests following losses in five of six games. Monta Ellis had 17 points and Andris Biedrins 15 for Golden State, which snapped a three-game series skid and beat Houston in Oakland for just the fourth time in the last 22 meetings.

Yao Ming had 38 points and 18 rebounds for Houston, but the center air-balled two shots in the final minute. Luther Head added 26 points and nine rebounds for the Rockets, who have lost consecutive games for the first time all season.

Yao's left baseline jumper extended Houston's lead to 107-103 with 33.5 seconds left.

Ellis then missed a three-pointer, but Mike Dunleavy got the offensive rebound and scored, eventually completing a three-point play after being fouled by Shane Battier with 29.3 seconds remaining.

Yao then missed the basket on a hook shot from the right baseline. Davis got the rebound and dribbled up the court before firing a three from the top of the circle.

Yao's long three-pointer was well short of the hoop as time expired.

It was a great effort for Yao, who ended 15-of-32 from the field and 8-of-8 from the foul line.

Dunleavy had 14 points and Mickael Pietrus tallied 11 for the Warriors.

Golden State scored the first seven points and led 25-21 going into the second. It was 52-50 in favor of the Warriors at the half, but Houston used an 13-0 run at the start of the third quarter. The Warriors were behind 78-75 going into the fourth, but it was a tight battle throughout the final 12 minutes.
