NBA Game Summary - Portland at Memphis

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Zach Randolph scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to an 85-79 win over an upstart Memphis Grizzlies team that almost overcame an early 21-point deficit.
Mike Miller scored 20 points to lead Memphis, which dropped its fourth in a row. Damon Stoudamire scored 15 for the Grizzlies. Chucky Atkins scored 14 points and Rudy Gay contributed 12 points, both off of the bench.
Ime Udoka scored 15 points for Portland, which earned its first three-game winning streak of the season with the win. Jarrett Jack and Juan Dixon scored 11 points apiece for the Blazers.
Memphis came all the way back from an early 21-point deficit, taking a 79-78 lead on two Alexander Johnson free throws with 1:15 left in regulation. Udoka answered for Portland, nailing a jumper from the corner to put Portland up 80-79 with one minute left.
Memphis had two crucial turnovers in the final five seconds that sealed the win for the Blazers. First, Atkins threw a no-look pass behind his head to nobody, and the ball bounced out of bounds with five seconds left with the Grizzlies trailing 80-79. Memphis quickly fouled, and Randolph hit both free throws, but the Grizzlies were still within three at 82-79 with 2.9 seconds left. Miller badly overthrew his overhanded inbounds toss, which sailed the length the of the court and out of bounds, effectively ending the game.
The Grizzlies had chipped away at Portland's lead in the third quarter, and trailed 64-57 entering the fourth.
Portland pulled away early, closing the first quarter with a 16-4 run. A Randolph jumper as time expired in the first put Portland up 27-14 going into the second quarter.
The Blazers continued the run into the second quarter with seven more points, making it a 23-4 stretch, capped by a Sergio Rodriguez three that put Portland up 34-14 with just under 10 minutes left in the first half.
Memphis answered with a 12-2 run, with eight of those points coming from Miller, who drilled two threes, including one with 7:13 left in the quarter that cut the deficit to 36-26. Portland responded with a 12-1 run, though, and a layup by Randolph put the Blazers up 48-27 with 2:52 left in the half. The Grizzlies scored eight straight to end the second quarter, and trailed 48-35 at halftime.
Memphis had beaten Portland in the last two meetings, and in seven of the last 10...Portland outrebounded the Grizzlies, 41-31...The Blazers went to the line more than twice as much as the Grizzlies, as Portland hit 19-of-25 from the charity stripe, while Memphis sunk 8-of-12 foul shots.
