NBA Game Summary - Utah at Milwaukee

(Saturday, November 11th)

Final Score: Utah 113, Milwaukee 111

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Carlos Boozer posted a season-high 32 points with 10 rebounds and Matt Harpring scored the winning basket, as the Utah Jazz kept up their impressive start to the 2006-07 season with a 113-111 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, who got a franchise-record 57 points from Michael Redd.

Redd made 18-of-32 shots from the field, including 6-of-12 from beyond the arc, and hit 15-of-17 from the free-throw line to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's old record of 55 points against Boston on December 10, 1971.

"He [Redd] was just sensational," Utah coach Jerry Sloan said. "We didn't have anyone to guard him. We had a lot of people get in foul trouble. We're not a great athletic team out there anyway. He's just one of those guys in the world out there that can get open, and when you're guarding him he's still open."

But, Redd missed a game-tying free throw with 12.1 seconds left and the game- winning shot at the buzzer, overshadowing his career night.

"It was a tight game and I messed that up," Redd said. "Fatigued. I don't know how many minutes I played, but it felt like the whole game, so fatigue kind of whipped me. But there are no excuses. I should have made the free throw. No excuses."

With Utah ahead 109-108, Boozer took an inbound pass and got fouled by Redd with 11.7 seconds on the clock. He converted both free throws for a three- point Utah lead.

Redd then rolled off a screen and drained a three-pointer from the top of the key with 6.9 seconds remaining to tie the score. However, Milwaukee's defense failed to get back quickly enough and Harpring scored the winning layup with 1.8 seconds on the clock.

"I saw an opening and got a great pass," Harpring said. "I just drove it in. I knew I had a back door, caught eyes with Deron Williams and he made a great pass."

Deron Williams notched 27 points and 15 assists for Utah, which has won six of its first seven to begin the year. Harpring netted 17 points and Paul Millsap added a career-high 15. Mehmet Okur grabbed 11 rebounds.

Ruben Patterson scored 18 points for Milwaukee, which has lost four in a row. Charlie Bell added 11 points in defeat.

Trailing 62-41 at halftime, Milwaukee managed to cut four points off its deficit in the third before Redd fueled a furious rally with 25 fourth-quarter points. The Bucks went on a 19-6 run down the stretch to pull within one before Boozer's two free throws.

The Jazz gained an early advantage courtesy of an 11-6 run late in the first quarter for a 32-23 lead heading into the second.

After Steve Blake opened the second-quarter scoring with a jumper, Utah blew the game open with a 16-0 run, capped by an Andrei Kirilenko jumper with 6:31 to go in the half.

Game Notes

Kirilenko sprained his right ankle midway through the second quarter...Redd scored his previous career high of 43 points in a 116-103 season-ending loss to Washington on April 18 last season...Utah swept last year's home-and-home series between the clubs and has won four straight overall over Milwaukee...The Jazz had lost two in a row at the Bradley Center before last December's 88-80 triumph.
