NBA Game Summary - Memphis at New Jersey
(Monday, December 11th)
Final Score: New Jersey 105, Memphis 92
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Vince Carter posted 37 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals while hitting a franchise-record nine three-pointers, as the Atlantic Division-leading New Jersey Nets matched a franchise record for three-pointers made in a game with 15 in their 105-92 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies at Continental Airlines Arena.
"I feel like I can shoot that, maybe not hit as many on the regular, but I have the confidence of shooting it, when you're hitting them like that and your teammates looking for you, after a while you get tired," Carter said. "At least I'm going into the record books for something."
Carter broke his career high and the franchise record for three-pointers made in a game set by Jason Kidd (7) at Boston on February 2, 2005 and himself (7) on February 7, 2005 against Philadelphia and April 9, 2005 against Boston. He also set the franchise record for three-point field goals attempted (20), passing his own mark of 16 in the Philly game on February 7, 2005.
"When he's [Carter] shooting threes like that it's hard if you take away penetration," Memphis coach Mike Fratello said. "You have to give up something, but he made shots. You have to give him credit."
Kidd notched 12 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists for his 79th career triple- double, passing Wilt Chamberlain (78) for third on the all-time list.
Richard Jefferson scored 16 points for the Nets, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Nenad Krstic added 14 points and six boards.
Chucky Atkins notched 26 points and seven assists for the Grizzlies, who lost their third straight. Damon Stoudamire scored 14 points, and Hakim Warrick and Stromile Swift both added 10.

The Nets went on a 10-0 spurt midway through the third capped by a Mikki Moore layup with 7:17 left for a 65-46 lead. They held an 84-66 advantage heading into the final stanza.
