NBA Game Summary - Miami at Denver

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - J.R. Smith poured in a career-high 37 points on 12-of-18 shooting to lead Denver past Miami, 123-107, at the Pepsi Center.
Carmelo Anthony added 32 points and nine rebounds for the Nuggets, who won their second straight game and for the fifth time in seven contests. Andre Miller had just five points but dished out 20 assists while Linas Kleiza had 15 points for Denver.
Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem each had 21 points for the Heat, who have lost two of their past three games. Jason Kapono added 19 off the bench while Dorell Wright had 11 points.
Denver had a comfortable 18-point lead heading into the second half and Miami had a tough time trying to get back in the game. Wade's three-point play closed the scoring in the third quarter and drew the Heat to within 11 points, 102-91, entering the final frame.
But, the Nuggets quickly stemmed off any momentum by scoring the first eight points of the fourth quarter. Earl Boykins capped the quick spurt with a running jumper to make it a 110-91 game with 9:38 left.
Miami never got closer than 14 points the rest of the way as Denver coasted to the finish line.
The Nuggets took a slim 35-32 edge after the opening 12 minutes and then took control with a dominating second quarter. Denver outscored the Heat 39-24 in the frame to take a commanding 74-56 lead at intermission. Smith had 27 points at the half.
Miller's 20 assists tied a league-high this season. Steve Nash of Phoenix also had 20 in a game this year...This was the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 14th, Carmelo Anthony scored 33 points and had six rebounds as the Nuggets beat Miami, 112-105, at AmericanAirlines Arena.
