Final Score: LA Lakers 106, Golden State 105 (OT)

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant, playing for the first time since his 81-point performance, scored 25 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead the Los Angeles Lakers over the Golden State Warriors, 106-105, at Staples Center.

Smush Parker added 17 points for the Lakers, who have won two straight and eight of 11. Chris Mihm and Brian Cook each added 12 points for Los Angeles, which rallied from a nine-point deficit late in the fourth quarter to capture its sixth straight home win.

Baron Davis had 29 points and 10 assists for the Warriors, who have lost four in a row. Mickael Pietrus tallied 20 points with 10 rebounds and Derek Fisher had 18 points for Golden State, losers in nine of its last 11.

Bryant, who also ended with eight assists, was held to just five points in the first half on 2-of-7 shooting. He attempted just one three-pointer, and missed, and hit his lone free throw attempt.

He was then held scoreless in the third quarter and didn't get into double figures until he hit 2-of-3 free throws to give him 11 points with 8:31 remaining in the game. His first three-pointer came nearly 2 1/2 minutes later.

On Sunday, Bryant made 28-of-46 field-goal attempts, including 7-of-13 from beyond the three-point line, and drained 18-of-20 free throw tries to record the second-highest single-game point total in league history. Only Hall-of- Famer Wilt Chamberlain's memorable 100-point outing with the Philadelphia Warriors against the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962 is better.

Down 89-80 with a little more than five minutes left in regulation, the Lakers scored 14 of the final 19 points of the fourth to tie the game at 94-94. Bryant, who got going offensively during the run, started the burst with a three-pointer with 5:02 left and then accounted for the final six points -- all from the free throw line. His two from the stripe with 7.1 on the clock tied the game for the first time since early in the third quarter.

Davis had a chance to give Golden State the win, but he could not shake Bryant to get a clean look and his jumper as time expired was well off the mark.

In the extra session, Bryant's bucket in the early stages gave the Lakers their first lead since early in the second half. Then, after Lamar Odom blocked a shot on the defensive end, Bryant drained a three-pointer with 2:12 on the clock to extend the lead to 99-94.

Later, a Zarko Cabarkapa bucket drew the Warriors within 101-98 with 51 seconds on the clock.

Parker then turned the ball over for the Lakers, giving the Warriors a chance to tie the game. However, Pietrus' three-pointer with 28 seconds left bounced out.

Parker then hit 1-of-2 from the line with 13.2 seconds remaining to increase the lead to four points, 102-98, and ice the game.

Only a three-pointer by Pietrus as time expired made it a one-point game.

The Lakers led 31-28 after one quarter and extended to a 55-47 advantage going into halftime.

The Warriors scored the first 13 points of the third quarter to go ahead 60-55. Davis' bucket more than two minutes into the frame gave Golden State the lead 57-55 and Pietrus' three-pointer near the eight-minute mark capped the surge.

The Warriors later scored six of the final eight points of the third to go into the final 12 minutes with a 73-66 edge.

"They almost made me get up and walk out of the building in the third quarter," said Lakers head coach Phil Jackson. "They got it righted and played good defense to get back in the game. I knew that Kobe would find a way out there to help us win."

Troy Murphy had 15 points and 14 boards for the Warriors.

"I don't know how much more I can ask for from our guys," said Golden State head coach Mike Montgomery. "We battled tough. Kobe just keeps coming at you. We just need to finish it out."
