NBA Game Summary - Indiana at LA Clippers

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Ron Artest scored 22 points and Austin Croshere added 17 to lead the Indiana Pacers past the Los Angeles Clippers, 97-92, at Staples Center.
Croshere also had eight rebounds and Jermaine O'Neal chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Pacers, who have won four of their last five games. Jamaal Tinsley and Stephen Jackson each added 15 points in the win.
"We showed real character, that was big for us," said Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle. "We made some big plays in the second half. Croshere was a huge player in the game."
Elton Brand finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Clippers, who lost for the first time at home this season (5-1). Chris Kaman netted 18 points with 12 boards and Corey Maggette added 15 points in the loss.
Both teams finished with five players in double figures.
The Pacers opened up the fourth frame with four straight points for a 77-70 lead and, after the Clippers battled back to make it 79-76 game, Indiana went on a 9-2 run for a 88-78 edge with 7:08 left in the fourth. All of the points came off of three-point baskets, two by Croshere.
However, an 8-0 spurt by the Clippers with 1:07 left in the frame later pulled Los Angeles to within 92-90.
After Tinsley hit two free throws to go back up by four, Cuttino Mobley knocked down a jumper with 49 seconds left in the frame to make it 94-92. Jackson would miss a three-point attempt at the other end, but O'Neal pulled down the offensive rebound.
Indiana then called a timeout to setup a shot by Tinsley. However, the guard didn't convert but this time Croshere got the offensive board and he was promptly fouled. Croshere then knocked down his two free throws for a 96-92 edge with four seconds left in the game.
Artest stole the inbounds pass after a Clipper timeout, was fouled, and hit 1- of-2 free throws to account for the final score.
"We just wanted to win," Artest said. "A lot of balls went our way."
After O'Neal opened the scoring in the contest the Clippers went on an early 9-0 run for a 9-2 lead and held a 32-31 advantage at the end of the first.
Indiana would take a 37-36 lead with 7:22 remaining in the second, but, with the Pacers up 43-39, Los Angeles went on a 9-0 spurt for a 48-43 lead and led 54-47 at the end of the first half.
Croshere's three-point basket tied the game at 58-58 with 8:06 left in the third and the two teams traded baskets through most of the third. Indiana led 73-70 after three.
Tinsley had eight assists...Mobley ended with 12 points and Sam Cassell had 10 points for the Clippers...Indiana held a 13-5 edge in offensive rebounds but were outrebounded overall 44-42...The Clippers hit 92.6 percent (25-of-27) of their free throws.
