NBA Game Summary - Portland at Miami

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Dwyane Wade led a balanced scoring attack with 19 points and tied a career-high with 11 rebounds, as the Miami Heat defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 100-79 at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Jason Williams added 16 points, while James Posey tied a season-high with 12 points for Miami, which shot 49 percent from the floor and out rebounded the Blazers 41-35. The Heat also have won five of their last six games.
Darius Miles led the Blazers with 19 points and Zach Randolph added 16 points and eight boards in the loss. Portland has lost three of its last four games.
"We just didn't have the energy tonight to move and force that defense to move. They looked like the fresher team," said Portland head coach Nate McMillan.
Posey was a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc in the opening quarter to lead all scorers with nine points, as the Heat jumped out to a 15-4 lead before Portland fought back to trim the advantage to 22-21 after one quarter.
Wayne Simien, who had scored just 17 points all season entering the contest, scored six straight points to give Miami a 32-27 lead early in the second quarter.
Then, Alonzo Mourning started dominating the paint. He tallied six points in a two-minute span, then Wade attempted and converted his first shot of the game -- with 3:04 left in the half -- to give Miami a 44-39 lead.
Miami took a 52-45 advantage into the locker room behind 10 points each from Mourning and Wade. Randolph led Portland with 12 first-half points.
The Heat went on a 15-5 run to open up a tight game early in the third quarter. First, Wade hit a pull-up jumper then penetrated for a jump shot in the lane to give Miami a 57-47 lead.
After a Miles layup, Williams drove to the basket for a lay-in then connected on a deep three-pointer to extend the lead to 62-49. Williams capped the spurt with a layup and mid-range jumper to give Miami a 68-52 lead.
Miami took a comfortable 72-57 lead into the fourth quarter, as Williams scored 11 points and Wade added eight during the period.
The lead grew to as many as 23 points in the final period, as the Heat cruised throughout most of the final 12 minutes.
"Good second half especially at the defensive end. We out rebounded them by seven, held their shooting percentage down and picked up our intensity," Heat head coach Stan Van Gundy said.
Mourning blocked the 2,000th shot of his career early in the first quarter. He became the 14th player to achieve 2,000 career blocks...Portland was on the third leg of a seven-game road trip...The Heat have won six straight homes game after dropping their home opener versus Indiana...Miami reserve forward Antoine Walker scored 12 points...Blazers forward Martell Webster scored 13 points off the bench in the loss.
