Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Mike Miller scored 18 points, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, and pulled down 16 rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the New Jersey Nets, 81-69, at FedEx Forum.
Bobby Jackson had 17 points and eight rebounds and Eddie Jones netted 12 for the Grizzlies, who have won seven of their last eight and nine of their last 11 games.
Vince Carter scored 14 points and Jason Kidd added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Nets, who shot 34.7 percent from the floor. New Jersey has lost two consecutive games overall and five straight against Memphis.
Holding a 32-29 advantage, Memphis went on a 15-0 tear, including six points each from Miller and Jones, to take a 47-29 lead at the half. The Grizzlies outscored the Nets 29-11 in the second period.
New Jersey's shooting woes continued in the second half as it went without a field goal for more than 7 1/2 minutes, which bridged the second and third quarters, in which it scored only one point.
New Jersey trailed 65-46 after three periods and got no closer than 12 in the fourth quarter as the Nets emptied their bench.
The Grizzlies opened up an 8-2 lead early in the first quarter, but the Nets fought back with a 10-3 run capped Carter's jumper with under four minutes to play in the opening frame.
The score was 18-18 after 12 minutes of play as Memphis' Antonio Burks drove the length of the floor for a layup as the buzzer sounded.
