(Sunday, November 20th)

Final Score: LA Clippers 113, Golden State 101

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Elton Brand tied a season high with 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Golden State Warriors, 113-101, at Staples Center.

Corey Maggette added a season-high 24 points while Cuttino Mobley chipped in 22 for the Clippers, who won their third straight game.

At 8-2, the Clippers are off to their best start in franchise history.

"I was pleased with the way we played today. We took some punches, but in the second half we took care of business," Clippers head coach Mike Dunleavy said. "We feel we can play with anybody. We have to play smart."

Baron Davis had 21 points while dishing out 13 assists in the loss. Jason Richardson added 20 points for Golden State, which has lost two of its last three games.

Holding a slim 63-62 lead, the Clippers went on a 19-4 spurt to stretch their edge to 16. Maggette had five points while Brand and Chris Kaman both netted four during the barrage. Brand's turnaround jumper in the lane capped the run and gave the Clippers an 82-66 advantage with 5:50 left in the third.

Trailing 94-79 after three, Golden State went on a 13-4 run to cut the deficit to six points with 7:41 to play. Davis scored six points during the flurry, but that was as close as the Warriors would get.

The Clippers went on a 13-2 run of their own to put the game away. Brand capped the spurt with a pair of free throws, as the big man finished 10-of-11 from the foul line.

Golden State led 33-30 after one quarter, but trailed 61-57 at the half.
