Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant poured in 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as the Los Angeles Lakers wrapped up a six-game road trip with a 94-79 victory over Memphis at the FedExForum.
Lamar Odom demonstrated his versatility with 14 points, seven boards and five assists for Los Angeles, which went 5-1 on its excursion. Smush Parker contributed 13 points, while Kwame Brown donated nine points off the bench.
Forward Mike Miller poured in a team-high 21 points for the Grizzlies, who have lost three straight.
Reserve players Hakim Warrick and Antonio Burks chipped in 11 points, and Pau Gasol had a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards.
Bryant had 14 points and six rebounds in the first half and Odom added nine points to lead the Lakers to a 45-37 advantage at the break.
The Lakers erupted in the third quarter to turn the game into a blowout. Bryant had 13 points in the stanza alone, helping Los Angeles outscore Memphis 28-15 in the quarter to assume a 73-52 lead.
Memphis pulled to within six to open the third on a Damon Stoudamire jumper and cut the deficit to five a few minutes later on a bucket by Eddie Jones.
Los Angeles simply exploded from there, however, ripping off a 26-8 charge to take a 73-50 advantage.
Bryant scored the first five points of that extended run, which was capped by a Chris Mihm layup with 34 seconds to play in the period.
The Lakers cruised the rest of the way.
Grizzlies forward Shane Battier (sprained index finger) and guard Bobby Jackson (hamstring) both missed Wednesday's game...The Lakers return to the Staples Center for a three-game homestand. They will host Washington, Houston and Dallas...The Lakers are 8-5 on the road this season...The Grizzlies are 6-3 as the host this season.
