NBA Game Summary - Memphis at Minnesota

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Brian Cardinal scored 18 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and drained three treys in the second overtime, as Memphis went into the playoffs on a winning note with a 102-92 victory over Minnesota at the Target Center.
Anthony Roberson scored a career-high 14 points and Dahntay Jones donated 13 points for Memphis, which ended the regular season on a five-game winning streak. The Grizzlies finished 8-1 in April and as the fifth seed, will square off against the fourth-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Bobby Jackson, Lawrence Roberts and Hakim Warrick each totaled 10 points in the victory. Star players Pau Gasol and Eddie Jones spent the night on the bench in street clothes to avoid injury.
Eddie Griffin posted a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds while Marcus Banks added 15 points for the Timberwolves, who ended the season with three consecutive defeats and will miss the playoffs for the second straight season.
Bracey Wright led all scorers with 19 off the bench and Rashad McCants added 13 points in the loss. All-Star forward Kevin Garnett (right knee tendinitis) did not play for Minnesota.
The second overtime belonged to the Grizzlies, who received a surprising long- distance contribution from Cardinal.
The veteran forward connected on his first three of the second extra session with 3:05 remaining, pushing the Memphis lead to 92-87. He then buried another trey to make the score 97-89 with 1:34 on the clock.
His final three provided the dagger and pushed the Grizzlies to a 102-92 lead with just 23 seconds left. Memphis outscored Minnesota 17-7 in the second overtime.
Cardinal also provided the heroics at the end of regulation, draining a three to square the contest at 80-80 with 18 seconds to play. Minnesota didn't even get off a shot at the other end, as Wright was stripped by Roberts just before the buzzer sounded.
Minnesota took an 84-82 lead in the first overtime on Trenton Hassell's dunk with 2:52 left. The Grizzlies answered with a three-pointer from Roberson, making the score 85-84 with 1:59 to play.
Griffin drained 1-of-2 from the charity stripe to tie the game with 30 seconds left and neither team capitalized on game-winning attempts in the final seconds.
The Timberwolves held a 51-43 lead at the half and took a 65-59 lead into the final period.
Minnesota finished 24-17 at home this season...Memphis ended 19-22 on the road...The Grizzlies took three of four meetings in the season series...The Timberwolves made only 6-of-25 from beyond the arc.
