NBA Game Summary - Utah at Memphis

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Pau Gasol put in 27 points and tied a career- high with 18 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies over the Utah Jazz, 87-65, at FedExForum.
Gasol also contributed seven assists and tied a personal-best with 15 points from the free throw line on a career-high 20 attempts for the Grizzlies, who have won their last five contests.
Eddie Jones, Bobby Jackson and Mike Miller all netted 13 points for Memphis, which has won five of its last six games against Utah.
Andrei Kirilenko had 20 points and six rebounds and Devin Brown added 10 points for the Jazz, who had a season-high five-game winning streak stopped.
Memphis had a 13-10 lead with less than six minutes left in the first quarter, but thanks to poor Utah shooting, the Grizzlies closed out the opening 12 minutes with a 15-4 run and had a 14-point lead going into the second quarter.
The Jazz shot a terrible 6-for-22 in the first quarter and Gasol paced the Grizzlies with 14 points.
Utah continued its poor play in the second and were unable to cut into the Memphis lead.
The Jazz made it a 10-point game after Robert Whaley put in a free throw to make it 36-26 with a little over four minutes until halftime. However, the Grizzlies finished the second with a small 9-4 run and took a 45-30 lead into the locker room.
Utah tried chipping into Memphis' advantage in the third quarter and outscored the Grizzlies 19-16 for the period. Mehmet Okur hit a free throw to complete a three-point play to cut the deficit to 61-49 going into the final 12 minutes.
However, the Grizzlies ran away with the game in the fourth.
The Jazz got to within nine points after Kirilenko hit a running jumper to make it 66-57 with 6:22 to play. However, Miller hit two free throws on the Grizzlies next possession to spark a 15-3 run, and the Grizzlies had a 81-60 lead after Jones put in a layup with 2:53 left.
Memphis travels to Chicago for a game on Saturday...The Jazz continue their four-game road trip at Detroit on Saturday...Gasol's 20 free throw attempts is a Memphis single-game record...Okur finished with seven points and 12 rebounds...Utah finished the game hitting just 31 percent of its shots...The Grizzlies only hit 36 percent of their field-goal attempts but went 31-of-39 (80 percent) from the charity stripe.
