NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Orlando

(Saturday, March 11th)

Final Score: Orlando 103, Golden State 92

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Hedo Turkoglu turned in a good all-around game by scoring 21 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out eight assists, as the Orlando Magic downed the Golden State Warriors, 103-92, at the TD Waterhouse Centre.

Keyon Dooling added 13 points and Jameer Nelson chipped in 12 points for the Magic, who had five players score in double figures. The Magic have won back- to-back games for the first time since January.

"Before the game we talked about just getting a total team effort tonight," said Orlando head coach Brian Hill. "From everybody - from both units, our starters and our second unit. I thought we really got that tonight. We didn't come out sluggish like we did last night."

Derek Fisher tallied 20 points and six assists, while Baron Davis scored 17 points and dished out seven helpers for the Warriors, who ended their five game road trip with a 1-4 record. Golden State snapped Miami's 10-game winning streak the night before.

"Well we're not good enough to not come out and play hard, we just didn't have the same amount of energy that Orlando did," said Golden State head coach Mike Montgomery. "Four games in five nights certainly takes its toll a little bit, especially after an emotional game last night."

The Magic led, 71-63, with 5:08 left in the third quarter before Dooling scored six straight points to give his team a 14-point lead, 77-63. Orlando took an 82-67 lead into the final frame.

Carlos Arroyo and Stacey Augmon opened the fourth quarter with buckets to extend the Orlando lead to 19, 86-67.

Davis sank a jumper with 3:04 to play that capped a 10-3 run to bring the Warriors within seven, 93-86. They cut the lead down to four, as Calbert Cheaney sank a three with 1:29 left to make the score 95-91.

Turkoglu put the game away, as he drilled a shot from long distance on the ensuing possession with 1:09 remaining, putting the Magic up 98-91.

The Magic hit their free throws down the stretch to hold on for the win.

Dwight Howard's dunk with 5:31 to go in the first quarter gave the Magic a six-point lead, 17-11. Orlando led 30-28 after the opening stanza.

Tony Battie scored four straight points for the Magic, who went on a 7-0 run midway through the second quarter to take a nine-point lead, 50-41. Orlando maintained its nine-point lead into halftime, 56-47.
