NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Miami

(Friday, March 10th)

Final Score: Golden State 111, Miami 106

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Jason Richardson posted a career-high 44 points, as Golden State snapped Miami's 10-game winning streak with a 111-106 victory at American Airlines Arena.

Troy Murphy added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Warriors, who snapped a four-game overall skid and won at Miami for the first time since November 24, 1993. The Warriors had lost 10 straight road games in Miami, but made 10-of-17 shots from beyond the arc Friday night to send the Heat to just their seventh home loss (23-7) this season.

"It has to help the guys' confidence to know that we can do this," Warriors head coach Mike Montgomery said. "It doesn't count any more if you look at the overall record."

Dwyane Wade had a season-high 42 points and Shaquille O'Neal ended with 21 points and 15 rebounds, but Miami lost at home for the first time this season to a sub-.500 team, and to a team mired in last place in the Pacific Division.

"We just have to get stops, especially down the stretch," O'Neal said. "We got 10 out of 11 now, we want to get the next 10 out of 11."

Richardson shot 17-of-26 from the field, including 6-of-7 from three-point range, as the Warriors snapped a six-game slide on the road.

Golden State scored 13 straight points early in the fourth quarter to assume a 97-83 cushion. A pair of dunks by Richardson ended the push.

The Heat got as close as four points, but the last time was too late at 110-106 on Antoine Walker's three-pointer with 2.5 seconds left.

Murphy's free throw accounted for the final margin.

The Warriors finished the first quarter on an 11-2 run to grab a 29-21 lead. Richardson had five of those points.

A 14-5 spurt by Miami to end the half brought the Heat within 55-53, with Wade scoring eight during the stretch.

James Posey's three-pointer to start the second half gave Miami a brief lead, but Murphy came back with two consecutive jumpers, including a three, and the Heat wouldn't lead again.

A dunk by O'Neal tied the game at 60 and a Gary Payton three-pointer had the game tied at 81 until Baron Davis drained a three to end the third with the Warriors up 84-81.
