Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - James Jones had 22 points to lead eight Phoenix players in double figure scoring, as the Suns destroyed the Portland Trail Blazers, 130-85, at America West Arena.
Shawn Marion and Raja Bell each contributed 21 points for the Suns, who won their seventh straight game and posted their largest triumph since a 114-68 demolition of the Los Angeles Clippers on February 2, 2000.
Steve Nash had 14 points and 12 assists, while Pat Burke and Kurt Thomas each tallied 12 points. Jim Jackson and Dijon Thompson both scored 10, as the Suns shot 55.6 percent and hit half their 32 three-point tries.
Zach Randolph scored 15 points and Jarrett Jack added 14 for the Trail Blazers, losers of five in a row. Sebastian Telfair had 12 points and Juan Dixon scored 10, but Portland made just 38 percent of its field goal attempts.
Joel Przybilla's jumper had Portland ahead 7-4, but the Suns exploded for a 17-2 spurt to take control. Bell had consecutive three-pointers and Nash capped the rally with a tip-in with 4:39 left in the quarter.
Phoenix led 34-24 after 12 minutes and widened that advantage to 45-29 following a jumper from Jones. It was 66-47 at the half.
The Suns' lead first reached 30 points when Marion went to the foul line with 5:36 left in the third quarter to make it 86-56. That was part of 12 consecutive points for Phoenix, and when the smoke cleared the Suns had burned the Blazers for a 93-56 advantage.
Nash connected with Marion on an alley-oop jam in the closing seconds of the third quarter, and the Suns led 102-65 going into the fourth. Phoenix' lead reached as high as 46 points.
Phoenix outrebounded the Blazers, 52-37...Jones was 6-of-12 from beyond the arc...Phoenix has won four straight meetings.
