NBA Game Summary - Toronto at Washington

Final Score: Washington 119, Toronto 111 (OT)

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Gilbert Arenas poured in 37 points and dished out nine assists to lead Washington to a 119-111 overtime victory over the Toronto Raptors at the MCI Center.

Jarvis Hayes scored six of his season-high 21 points in overtime and also had eight rebounds, as the Wizards won for the second time in three contests. Antawn Jamison totaled 26 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists for the Wizards, while Jared Jeffries added 14 points and 10 boards.

Chris Bosh had 27 points and nine rebounds for the Raptors, who had their two- game winning streak broken and fell to 3-16 on the season. Morris Peterson scored 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds for Toronto, which lost for the eighth time in the last nine meetings to Washington.

Jamison made 1-of-2 free throws to give the Wizards a 105-102 lead with 14.1 seconds left in regulation, but the Raptors tied the game with 5.1 seconds remaining. Peterson missed a three-pointer from the top of the arc, but corralled a loose ball and banged in a shot from the left corner.

Arenas missed a jumper at the end of regulation, but Hayes came up big in overtime. Hayes drilled a three-pointer to give Washington the lead for good at 110-107 and Jamison's layup put the Wizards ahead by five points with 1:56 remaining.

Jumpers by Mike James and Bosh pulled the Raptors within 112-111 with 1:06 to go, but Arenas countered with a basket and Hayes came up with a steal and was awarded a clear path free throw. Hayes made the attempt for a 115-111 lead with 36.8 seconds left and the Wizards got the ball back. Jamison sealed the victory with a jumper from the left corner with 25 seconds remaining and Arenas added two foul shots.

Charlie Villanueva had 18 points and Matt Bonner scored 12 for Toronto, which led 61-59 at the half. However, the Wizards rallied to lead 83-79 going into the fourth.

Game Notes

Toronto has lost five straight at Washington...Jose Calderon had eight points, nine rebounds and 13 assists for the Raptors...Arenas was 13-of-24 overall from the field, including 4-of-9 from three-point range...Bosh was 13-of-16 at the foul line...This was the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 2nd, Jamison scored 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds, along with hitting the go-ahead jumper late in the fourth quarter, as the Wizards defeated the Raptors, 99-96, at Air Canada Centre.
